Saturn and the Kore Goddess Part II: The Power of the Kore-Virgin
Live Webinar at the Centre for Psychological Astrology/MISPA
In this webinar we will continue our work of cultivating a shift of vision in regards to the archetypal principle of Saturn via the Kore archetype. The Kore, personified by the Greek goddesses Persephone, Artemis, Athena and Hestia, presents us with a feminine, creative and redemptive face for our Saturnian labours of consciousness and maturation.
In part I (2024) Safron Rossi drew on her book The Kore Goddess: A Mythology & Psychology to lay the groundwork for looking at the astrological meaning of Saturn alongside the core psychological themes and mythology of the Kore, with a focus on Saturn in the signs and houses. In Part II we will explore Saturn in the natal chart and by transit as it pertains to korehood, a metaphor for what it means to embrace our essential being and psychological sovereignty. We will approach these ideas through close consideration of Saturn in the charts of Marion Woodman, Maya Angelou and Frida Kahlo. There will also be space for personal chart contemplation and reflective writing.
